"Hope is like a road in the country; there was never a road, but when many people walk on it, the road comes into existence. " ~Lin Yutang

Fragrant lillies, red geraniums, velvety purple petunias, and yellow marigolds, add trailing verbena, faintly sweet roses, a little ivy, a little vinca, plus a few clay pots, some potting soil, a pair of garden gloves and a spade, oops... don't forget a purring cat or two, several hundred bees, somewhere in the distance children laughing.... ahh the color of spring, the smell of spring, the activities of spring.
The yard and the woods are alive with activity. The old wooden swing beckons. The sun is warm; the breeze is cool and the soil is begging to be turned. Spring is such a wonderful time of renewal. A time of hope...
Yes, I am going to hope, not only for my family, but for all of us. These are difficult times, America, close your eyes and inhale the intoxicating smell of spring. God who creates such infinite, intricate, profound beauty, will not leave us to despair.
Go sit in the sun, close your eyes and lift your face skyward.
Feel the warmth of the Son; there is hope.

  1. You just painted the most beautiful picture in my mind... & that will get me through my day. Dreams of spring and what awaits me outside of this office. I always complain about how I am no where near a window because I cannot see outside, or feel the suns rays peeking in. But then, maybe this is a good thing; because I doubt I would get anything accomplished with glimpses of spring tempting my mind.
