Nobody can do for little children what grandparents do. Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children. ~Alex Haley

Well, Pop, out did himself today. He is a great Dad and an awesome Pop.
Today, Ma and the children used side walk chalk to create Lollipop Land on the driveway. Pop was outside admiring the art work when he told the grands we used to have a lollipop tree but it died... "This is where it used to be," he continued. "We planted another tree there..."
By now N. is observing the new tree only to shout for joy at the sight of several strategically placed Dum Dum Pops.
The older kids are snickering quietly saying we shouldn't try to encourage this nonsense. Hey... this nonsense is what makes childhood so magical...

  1. Pops sounds like the best grandpa ever! What a clever idea! That memory will last for years! I love it!

We are so lucky to have such a loving, amazing, patient, sweet, caring and hilarious father! I adore him and the little things he does.. just like the dum dum tree :) Its the things I miss like that that make me want to move back home. Now I have to hear the jokes and storys after the fact and I'm not a part of them.. ugh!

His jokes and humor are priceless! When he cracks himself up and can't stop laughing I just want a little miniature version of him to carry around in my pocket... it is so adorable.

He is the most genuine man I have ever met and its obvious how much he enjoys letting little imaginations run wild... not only that, but he tags along for the journey. Not many people can say any of those things about anyone they know.. much less their father. I LOVE MY DADDY WITH ALL MY HEART! :)

  3. I met Alex Haley once and he was a perfect gentleman in every way, not surprising he would come up with such a gem about grandkids!

  4. Your kids are lucky to have such a great grandpa!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Thank you so much for visiting :) Y'all come back now...
