Registered nurse with a background in pediatrics, labor and delivery, recovery, postpartum and newborn nursing. A smattering of med./surg. with a dab of o.r and home health on the side. Now I am a nurse educator. I love teaching about the profession I love so much. I have taught pathophysiology, nursing fundamentals, and pediatrics. Once I completed my Ph.D. I began teaching graduate nursing classes. I now teach graduate nursing in a large private Christian university. I am so proud to call myself a nurse, especially after all we have endured with the Covid-19 pandemic. During Covid, in addition to teaching, I worked in our states largest pediatric clinic. My heart and admiration go out to all medical providers who have worked during this challenging unprecedented time. I am happily married to my sweetheart of 47 years and mom of 6 wonderful children and 5 gorgeous grands! Blogger homes- Mops and Pops Place and Nurse's Watch. Mops and Pops are parents of 6 children.Years ago we were christened with the names Mops and Pops by our 3rd oldest after he came home from college one weekend. We live, laugh, work, play and school right here at Mops and Pops Place located in the sunny south. Home of southern hospitality, good southern sweet iced tea and that slow southern drawl...yeah. Pull up a chair and "sit a spell."

Practical suggestions for living, homeschooling, and working will be sprinkled through these pages as we chronicle these days. May we be found faithful "for such a time as this."

Tricks of the Trade...Homeschooling Secrets:

1)Talk to other homeschoolers.
2)Look up homeschooling on the web.
3)Assess your teaching style and your children's learning styles. Do you like the structure of a formal curriculum or are you more eclectic?
4)Remember just because you bought it doesn't mean you have to use it. If it's not working for you move on to something else!
5)Black and white marbled composition books for journaling and drawing are your best friend.
6)There are those days..."Mama said there'd be days like this, there'd be days like this, my Mama said..." Yeah, everybody has them. Have a plan B for those days...reading day, puzzle day, homeliving i.e. cleaning day (my personal favorite),spring day( send them outside to read and don't come back in until there is something creative in that journal!)
7)Drum roll please.....enjoy this opportunity and this time; it flies!
