And as a nurse (as you probably know) we forget about ourselves.
Can't tell you how many shifts I have done where at the end of the shift, I realize I haven't even stopped to go to the bathroom in the last 12+ hours.
This is totally work reposting periodically. One Nursehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07063978678436812270noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5279558120867382567.post-2199835410488205312009-06-24T00:28:45.618-04:002009-06-24T00:28:45.618-04:00Powerful stuff, this. I like your analogy to the oxygen mask...it is very true--we do need to look after ourselves or how can we look after everyone else???K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/09927932062095074749noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5279558120867382567.post-40981347515826343532009-06-23T19:13:36.620-04:002009-06-23T19:13:36.620-04:00Isn't it true we've learned to feel selfis...Isn't it true we've learned to feel selfish when we take time out for ourselves? I actually use this in a seminar that I teach. No one can fully give to others, by helping without putting the O2 mask on themselves first.
Somehow, we have taught or have been taught that taking care of ourselves first is selfish, when indeed it is the only way to do it properly, including the children!

And I like that little witty goofing off you did at the beginning!Sharon Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00695395104518983907noreply@blogger.com
